Apparition

Lying close to her in dark
that twinkling star catches your eye
through window night.

Can you feel me,
for I am with you?
Do you remember the fire,
for it burns still?

If my lips could feel yours again
I would kiss your tears away.
Feel me,
Hear me,
Don't cry, I'm OK.

My unearthly hand gently caresses your brow.
As your eyes close
I hear your peaceful sigh.
This is my last look at you
as I am whisked away
forever.
