James Thomas Whitworth
--------------------------------------------------
James Thomas Whitworth was born in 1981. He currently resides in Leeds, England and is a postal worker by profession. About poetry he says, "Poetry is something I have an urge to do, not necessarily to get out what is inside, but simply because it holds a kind of aesthetic pleasure. It is satisfaction for my constant urge to write whilst allowing a certain freedom in its construction."

In unique rhythms and fresh imagery, "Sunlight from Another Day" calls to mind Thoreau’s notion of the "tonic of wildness and wild lands". The book touches on the hazardous but often healing wilderness of love relationships. Some poems echo an unsettlingly familiar sense of the bizarre; others evoke purifying streams of empathy and compassion. As an integrated whole, they affirm the value of our daily song, the value of listening, in our more enlightened moments, to "the droning of silence."

"It's Dawn, So You Know..."
Dawn tip-toed in quietly,
as if not to disturb the night,
who while dreaming sweetly,
was unwilling to greet the light.
Whispering of a new age,
days filled with prismatic hue,
the shadows surrendered
all their shades of grayish-blue.
Lavender spreads its silken wings
preparing to take flight.
Morning came-a-waltzing, wearing
shoes that seemed too tight.
If only for a moment, magic
held the memories at bay.
I sat in quiet reflection;
I had nothing left to say.
